Proposed amendment

Kevin Hague, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 222:

In clause 222(3)(a)(i), replace “$10,000” (line 17 on page 156) with “$20,000”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Alcohol Reform Bill to bring the penalty for supplying minors with alcohol into line with that for the supply of out-of-hours alcohol, so increasing the risk to businesses that supply alcohol to underage people. This amendment will reduce the harm caused to young people by alcohol.
