Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas Bill

Proposed amendments

Phil Twyford, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 32

After clause 32(2) (after line 25 on page 33), insert:

  • (2A) No resource consent granted under this Act may be inconsistent with the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area Act 2008.

Clause 61

After clause 61(4) (after line 39 on page 45), insert:

  • (4AA) No plan change or variation to a proposed plan under this section may be inconsistent with the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area Act 2008.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas Bill to prevent the Act being able to override the protection provided by the Waitakere Ranges Heritage Area Act to ensure that this important heritage area has adequate protection under the legislation.
