Proposed amendment

Maggie Barry, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

New Clause 6

After clause 5 (after line 11 on page 2), insert:

6 Existing membership of local boards not affected

  • Nothing in section 5 affects the current tenure of any person who is a member of 2 or more local boards at the commencement of this Act.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper provides a savings clause to ensure that existing membership of two or more local boards is not affected by the commencement of the Bill.
