Local Government Act 2002 Amendment Bill (No 3)
Proposed amendment
Su’a William Sio, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 11
After clause 11(6) (page 16, after line 34), insert:
(7) Where as a result of a review under subsection (1) a local authority proposes to change delivery to be carried out by a body other than the authority, they must consult on the proposal in a manner that gives effect to the requirements of section 82.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 11 of the Bill to ensure that the review provisions are not used as a way of increasing the contracting out or privatisation of Council services by ensuring the public is consulted before any change.
