Telecommunications (Development Levy) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
James Shaw, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
New clause 3A
After clause 3 (page 1, after line 9), insert:
3A Section 90 amended (Crown use of telecommunications development levy)
After section 90(3), insert:
(4)
The Minister must ensure that any use of the telecommunications development levy for the purposes under subsection (1)(b) or (d) does not fund any person to meet their existing contractual requirements with the Crown.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper ensures that the telecommunications development levy is not used to fund any of the existing contractual requirements between telecommunications network operators and the Crown.
