Proposed amendments
Marama Davidson, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 33
In clause 33(1)(a), replace “commence a review of”
(page 55, line 1) with “establish a panel independent of the Crown and Te Mātāwai to review”
.
In clause 33(1)(b), before “prepare a report”
(page 55, line 4), insert “instruct the independent panel to”
.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 33 to compel the Minister to establish an independent panel to review the operation and effectiveness of the Bill, after the expiry of 3 years from its commencement. The terms of reference for the review would be set by the Minister and Te Mātāwai. The Minister must instruct the independent panel to prepare a report on that review.
