Proposed amendments

Tracey Martin, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 9

In clause 9, delete section 5(2) and (3) (page 16, lines 1 to 6).

Clause 10

In clause 10, new section 5A(2)(a), delete “4 or” (page 16, line 14).

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends clauses 9 and 10 in the Education (Update) Amendment Bill to remove the ability of children under the age of five years to be enrolled in the compulsory schooling sector, and require any cohort enrolment policy to begin after the child’s fifth birthday.
