Crown Minerals (Petroleum) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
Jonathan Young, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 6A
In clause 6A, replace new section 25(2A) (page 3, lines 5 to 7) with:
(2A)
The Minister—
(a)
must not grant a permit for petroleum in respect of any land outside the onshore Taranaki region (despite anything to the contrary in this Act (including section 1A)); but
(b)
may grant a permit for petroleum where the mining operations are entirely located on land within the onshore Taranaki region, regardless of whether the petroleum being mined is located within or outside the onshore Taranaki region.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 6A of the Crown Minerals (Petroleum) Amendment Bill.
