Proposed amendment to SOP No 25

Maureen Pugh, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Part 2, new clause 80

Replace clauses 80 to 80D (pages 69 to 71) with:

80 Funeral grant: eligibility

A person is eligible for a funeral grant of, or not exceeding, the prescribed amount, if that person meets the criteria and other requirements set out in regulations made under section 406.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends SOP No 25 amending the Social Security Legislation Rewrite Bill, replacing clauses 80 to 80D with new clause 80 to give the Ministry of Social Development the capacity to provide a funeral grant according to criteria set out in section 406.
