Proposed amendment to SOP No 25

Hon Louise Upston, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Part 6, clause 319

In clause 319, replace the Example (page 186) with:

Examples

An instalment of jobseeker support must be paid by electronic transfer of funds into the beneficiary’s bank account, if that is what MSD has determined.

An instalment of temporary additional support must be paid by crediting an amount to a payment card, if that is what MSD has determined.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends SOP No 25 amending the Social Security Legislation Rewrite Bill. to restore certain provisions being removed by that SOP. It amends clause 319 restores an example of the requirement for a benefit to be paid in a manner from time to time determined by the Ministry of Social Development.
