Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
Hon Dr Nick Smith, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
New clause 3A
After clause 3 (page 1, after line 8), insert:
3A Section 3 amended (Interpretation)
In section 3(1), insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:
integrity means—
(a)
working in such a way that decisions reflect the democratic will of the people; and
(b)
that members of Parliament act consistently with the principles on which they were elected
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill. It inserts new clause 3A to provide a definition of “integrity”.
