Holidays (Increasing Sick Leave) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendments
Jan Logie, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 5
In clause 5, replace “15” (page 1, line 12) with “20”.
In clause 5, replace “10” (page 1, line 12) with “25”.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper would maintain the status quo, allowing employees to continue to carry over up to 15 days of sick leave from year to year. To ensure they receive the benefit of this, the amount of sick leave that employees must be permitted to accumulate would be raised to 25 days. This would ensure that employees gain the full benefit from the increase in minimum annual sick leave to 10 days.
