Clause 23
In clause 23(3), new subsection (7) of section 384G, replace “24” (page 14, line 8) with “12”.
Clause 28: new section 384KF
In clause 28, new section 384KF(6), replace “24” (page 17, line 35) with “12”.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper amends Part 3 of the Responding to Abuse in Care Legislation Amendment Bill, which makes changes to the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989. This amendment changes the ability to retain images generated from the use of imaging technology for up to 24 hours to up to 12 hours, reducing the likelihood of images being accessed for improper reasons.
