Order

1 Title

This order is the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority (Walnuts) Order 2019.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 August 2019.

3 Interpretation

(1)

In this order, unless the context otherwise requires, walnuts means nuts of any plants of the genus Juglans that are—

(a)

unshelled; or

(b)

shelled into halves or pieces, but are otherwise unprocessed.

(2)

To avoid doubt, walnuts that are chilled or frozen are unprocessed.

4 Walnuts declared prescribed product

Walnuts are a prescribed product for the purposes of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987.

5 Walnuts to be subject to export licensing

Walnuts are subject to export licensing in accordance with Part 3 of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987.

6 Product group recognised for walnuts

The body that was known immediately before the commencement of this order as the Walnut Industry Group Incorporated is the recognised product group for walnuts.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 August 2019, declares walnuts to be a prescribed product for the purposes of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987, provides for walnuts to be subject to export licensing, and recognises the Walnut Industry Group Incorporated as the product group for walnuts.
