An Act to amend the Marriage Act 1955

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:

1 Short Title

This Act may be cited as the Marriage Amendment Act 1999, and is part of the Marriage Act 1955 (“the principal Act”).

2 Issue of marriage licence and information return

This section inserted Section 24(1A) of the principal Act.

3 Place and form of marriage before marriage celebrant

This section amended Section 31(2) of the principal Act.

4 Marriages before Registrar

(1) This section amended Section 33(1) of the principal Act.

5 Repeal of spent enactment

The Marriage Amendment Act 1994 is repealed.
