Contents
1 Title
-
(1) This Act is the Fishing Industry Board Repeal Act 2001.
(2) In this Act, the Fishing Industry Board Act 1963 is called
“the principal Act”
.
2 Commencement
-
Except as provided in section 5(7), this Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Regulations
-
Section 35(1) of the principal Act is amended by inserting, after paragraph (f), the following paragraph:
-
“(fa) providing for the dissolution of the Board and for all matters related to the dissolution, including vesting of the assets and liabilities of the Board:”.

4 Assets and liabilities of Board
-
(1) The assets and liabilities of the Board vest in the Crown on 1 October 2002 unless—
-
(a) the Board recommends to the Minister alternative arrangements for the vesting of the assets and liabilities; and
-
(b) the Minister notifies the Board in writing that he or she considers that the arrangements are satisfactory.
(2) The Board must provide any recommendations for alternative arrangements to the Minister by 1 July 2002.

5 Repeal of principal Act, revocations, and amendments to other enactments

(1) The principal Act is repealed.
(2) Section 315 of the Fisheries Act 1996 is repealed.
(3) The Acts listed in Part 1 of the Schedule are amended in the manner set out in that schedule.
(4) The Fish Levy Regulations 1976 are revoked.
(5) The Fish Export Licensing Regulations 1982 are revoked.
(6) The regulations listed in Part 2 of the Schedule are amended in the manner set out in that schedule.
(7) This subsection and subsection (2) come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent, and the rest of this section and the Schedule come into force on 1 October 2002.

of further licences”
.
