Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act Commencement Order (No 2) 2001

Note

This order is administered in the Ministry for the Environment.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Interpretation Act 1999, section 1(2) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 and section 2 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2000, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

  • This order is the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act Commencement Order (No 2) 2001.

  • The Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act Commencement Order 2001 (SR 2001/111) is revoked.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force or fully into force on 2 July 2001 the provisions of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 and the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Amendment Act 2000 that, immediately before that date, were not in force or not fully in force.

This order revokes and replaces the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act Commencement Order 2001. That order incorrectly excluded section 3(3) to (7) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 from coming into force. Those provisions have already been brought into force by the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act Commencement Order 1996 (SR 1996/217).
