This order is made under section 68A(1)(c) of the Racing Act 2003—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the recommendation of the Minister for Racing.

1 Title
This order is the Racing (Extension of Transition Period) Order 2020.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 25 June 2020.
3 Extension of transition period for reform of New Zealand racing
The transition period defined in section 5(1) of the Racing Act 2003 is extended to 30 June 2021.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 25 June 2020, extends the transition period for the reform of New Zealand racing that is being led and managed by the Racing Industry Transition Agency. As extended by this order, that period expires with the close of 30 June 2021.
