Pursuant to section 2 of the Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Act 2009, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

1 Title
This order is the Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Act 2009 Commencement Order 2010.
2 Commencement
The Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Act 2009 comes into force on 1 July 2010.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force, on 1 July 2010, the Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Act 2009.
The Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Act 2009 amends the Sentencing Act 2002 to impose a levy of $50 on convicted offenders at the point of sentencing. The levy is to be paid into a specific Crown bank account known as the victims' services bank account.
