Pursuant to section 2 of the Biosecurity Amendment Act 2009, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.

This order is the Biosecurity Amendment Act 2009 Commencement Order 2010.
2 Commencement of Biosecurity Amendment Act 2009
The Biosecurity Amendment Act 2009 comes into force on 22 April 2010.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings the Biosecurity Amendment Act 2009 into force on 22 April 2010. The Biosecurity Amendment Act 2009 amends the provisions of the Biosecurity Act 1993 that provide for infringement offences so that infringement offences may be prescribed by regulations rather than specified in the Act.
