An Act to amend the “Native Purposes Appropriation Act 1862.”
Preamble.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the “Native Purposes Appropriation Act 1862”
it is enacted by Section V as follows—“It shall be “lawful for the Governor in each year after the sum of £19,000 “first hereinbefore granted and the sum of £7,000 on the Civil “List as aforesaid (making together the total sum of £26,000) “shall have been expended to appropriate such part of the yearly “payment for troops secondly hereinbefore granted as the Governor shall direct to be expended for such Native Purposes as to “him shall seem fit”
And Whereas it is expedient that the said Section should be repealed:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows:
I Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be the “Native Purposes Appropriation Act Amendment Act 1863.”
II Section 5 of “Native Purposes Appropriation Act 1862”
repealed.
The said recited Section V of the “Native Purposes Appropriation Act 1862”
is hereby repealed
III Commencement of Act.
This Act shall come into operation on the day on which the Governor in the name of Her Majesty shall assent thereto.
