An Act to provide for the Grant to Robert Johnston of Four Hundred Acres of Land in the Province of Wellington.
Preamble.
WHEREAS Robert Johnston has been declared to be entitled to a grant from the Crown of four hundred acres of land forming part of the Waste Lands now vested in the Crown and situated in the Province of Wellington And whereas it is expedient to make provisions for granting the said land
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act shall be “The Johnston Land Grant Act 1870.”
2 Selection may be made from Waste Lands in Province of Wellington.
Out of the Waste Lands in the Province of Wellington excepting within the Manawatu and Rangitikei Districts the said Robert Johnston shall be at liberty to select a block of four hundred acres Provided that such selection be made within six months from the passing of this Act.
