An Act to vest in the New River Harbour Board a certain Reserve in the Campbelltown Hundred.
Preamble.
WHEREAS the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto has been reserved from sale for the purposes of a pilot station for the Port of New River, and it is expedient that the same should be vested in the New River Harbour Board:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The New River Pilot Station Reserve Act, 1879.”
2 Land vested in the Harbour Board.
The parcel of land described in the said Schedule to this Act shall be and the same is hereby vested in the New River Harbour Board and their successors, for an estate of inheritance in fee-simple.
3 Land to be dealt with under “The Harbours Act, 1878.”
The said land shall be deemed to be land vested in the said Harbour Board for the purposes of the said port, and shall and may be dealt with in all respects by the New River Harbour Board, subject to the provisions of “The Harbours Act, 1878;”
and the rents to be derived from the same shall be applied, first towards maintaining a pilot and pilot station at New River Heads, and the balance paid towards the general purposes of the harbour.
Schedule
All that parcel of land in the Southland Division of the Provincial District of Otago, situated in the Campbelltown Hundred, known as the Pilot Station Reserve, estimated to contain one thousand and ninety (1,090) acres, more or less. Bounded towards the North by the New River estuary; towards the South-east by a Native Reserve; and towards the South and West by Foveaux Strait: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office, Invercargill.
