An Act to extend the Operation of “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act Amendment Act, 1882,”
in certain cases.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Registration of Births Extension Act, 1884.”
2 Extension of provisions of section 2 of “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act Amendment Act, 1882.”
The provisions of the second section of “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act Amendment Act, 1882,”
are hereby extended to include any child born in the colony previous to the period of twelve months before the passing of this Act, and all other the provisions of the said section so far as applicable are hereby re-enacted, and shall extend and apply to this Act accordingly.
3 In case of alteration of name, certificate not necessary when child not baptized.
In any case where the rite of baptism has not been administered to any child, it shall not be necessary that the last proviso to the twenty-second section of “The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875,”
shall be complied with so far as such proviso requires the certificate therein mentioned to be procured.
