An Act to appoint George Waldock Ell the Assignee of his Estate under “The Bankruptcy Act, 1892.”
Preamble.
WHEREAS the Commissioners appointed to inquire into complaints and charges made by George Waldock Ell against the late Official Assignee in Bankruptcy for the District of Canterbury, and the Registrar at Christchurch of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, have reported to the Governor, and, inter alia, have recommended that, under all the circumstances of the case, steps should be taken to enable the said George Waldock Ell to be appointed trustee in his own estate:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The G. W. Ell Empowering Act, 1893.”
2 G. W. Ell appointed assignee of his own estate.
George Waldock Ell, of Christchurch, is hereby appointed Assignee of his estate in bankruptcy upon trust for the creditors therein until payment of their debts proved, and, after payment of such debts, in trust for his own benefit.
This appointment shall be deemed to be made and shall take effect as if it had been made by the Court having jurisdiction in bankruptcy, under section one hundred and fifty-two of “The Bankruptcy Act, 1892.”
