An Act to amend “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Public Domains Act Amendment Act, 1903”
; and it shall form part of and be read together with “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”
2 Local authority may assist Domain Board with funds.
A local authority any of whose members are ex officio members of a Domain Board may apply any part of its ordinary funds towards the management, improvement, and maintenance of any lands the control of which is delegated to that Board under “The Public Domains Act, 1881,”
notwithstanding that such lands may be situate outside the district of such local authority.
3 Domains not to be let for building.
No portion of any domain used for public recreation shall be leased for building purposes.
4 Bush to be preserved.
The natural bush on any domain or reserve set apart for the purposes of public recreation shall not be cut or destroyed without the approval of the Governor in Council being first obtained.
5 Annual report.
A report of the proceedings of every Domain Board for each year shall, within one month from the date of each annual meeting of the Board, be sent to the Minister of Lands; and such report shall include a statement of the receipts and expenditure for the year ended the thirty-first day of December prior to the annual meeting.
6 When member’s seat becomes vacant.
Should any member of a Domain Board absent himself from three consecutive ordinary meetings without leave his seat shall become vacant.
