An Act to exempt the Property known as the Kensington Park Estate, situated in the Borough of Whangarei, from Municipal Rates.
Preamble.
WHEREAS the property known as the Kensington Park Estate, situated in the Borough of Whangarei, and being parts of Allotments Nos. 1 and 2 of the Parish of Whangarei and County of Marsden, is now vested in the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society, registered under “The Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1877,”
and was purchased out of moneys subscribed by the general public and by funds contributed by the Defence Department of the Colony of New Zealand, and for this and various other reasons it is desirous that the said property should be exempted from payment of all rates made and levied by the Borough of Whangarei, within which the said property is wholly situate:
Be it therefore enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
The Short Title of this Act is “The Kensington Park Rate Exemption Act, 1906.”
2 Power to remit payment of rates.
The Whangarei Borough Council may, if it thinks fit, remit all or any of the rates from time to time payable by the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society in respect of the said Kensington Park Estate
