An Act to amend the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Inangahua County Empowering Act, 1908.
2 Act to be read with the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894.
This Act shall be read together with the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894.
3 Repeal. District defined. County Council may levy rate. Rate-book to be prepared annually.
Section three of the Inangahua County Council Empowering Act, 1894, and Schedules to the said Act are hereby repealed, and the following enacted in lieu thereof:—

The Town of Reefton as defined in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a district, hereinafter referred to as the Reefton District; and within the Reefton District the Council may exercise the following powers:—
“(a.)
The County Council may levy an annual rate not exceeding one halfpenny in the pound upon the capital value of all rateable property within the said Reefton District, in addition to any other rate which the Council may be empowered to levy under any other Act for the time being in force.
“(b.)
The Council shall each year cause a rate-book to be prepared showing the rateable property within the said Reefton District, the names of the occupiers and owners of the property, and its rateable value; such rateable value to be taken from the general valuation roll for the time being in force within the county made under the provisions of the Valuation of Land Act, 1908.
“SCHEDULE “Reefton District
“All that area in the County of Inangahua known as the Town of Reefton: bounded on the east by the eastern side of Donovan Street and its continuation across Broadway, thence by the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 69 and 68, and a right line in continuation of the said eastern boundaries of the said sections to the Inangahua River; on the south by the northern bank of the Inangahua River; on the west by the western side of Crampton Road; and on the north by the northern side of Boundary Road.”
