An Act to amend the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act, 1908.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the New Zealand Society of Accountants Amendment Act, 1913, and shall be read together with and be deemed part of the New Zealand Society of Accountants Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Section 31 of principal Act amended.
Section thirty-one of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection one, the following subsections:—
“(1A.)
The Council may refuse to accept such resignation—
“(a.)
If it has good cause for believing that the member has been guilty of conduct that would justify his expulsion from the Society or his removal from the Register; or
“(b.)
If the Council is informed of, and proposes to inquire into, any matters which, if proved to its satisfaction, would establish that the member has been guilty of such conduct; or
“(c.)
If the member is indebted to the Society.
“(1B.)
Such resignation shall not take effect if the Council refuses to accept it on any of the grounds mentioned in the last preceding subsection.”
