An Act conferring certain Powers on the Auckland Harbour Board (hereinafter termed the Board).
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Auckland Harbour Board Empowering Act, 1914.
2 Board may accept surrender of leases and grant new leases.
For the purpose of straightening Hobson Street, in the City of Auckland, it shall be lawful for the Board to accept surrenders of any lease or leases held by the Auckland Electric Tramways Company (Limited), and to grant to the said company a new lease of a portion of the lands held by it, with such other area and for such terms and upon such conditions as may be agreed upon by the company and the Board.
3 Canal between Waitemata and Kaipara Harbours.
The powers vested in the Board to make surveys and to obtain information with respect to the advisability of making canals between the Waikato River, the Manukau, and the Waitemata Harbours shall be deemed to have included the power to make similar surveys and inquiries with respect to a canal between the Waitemata and Kaipara Harbours.
