An Act to amend the Railways Improvement Authorization Act, 1914.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Railways Improvement Authorization Amendment Act, 1915, and shall form part of and be read together with the Railways Improvement Authorization Act, 1914.
2 Railways Improvement Authorization Act deemed to be a special Act for purposes of Public Works Act.
(1.)
The Railways Improvement Authorization Act, 1914, shall be deemed to be a special Act (authorizing the construction of such railways to the extent specified in the Schedule thereto) within the meaning and for the purposes of the Public Works Act, 1908, which Act is, so far as applicable, hereby incorporated with the said Act.
And for purposes of section 42 of Harbours Amendment Act, 1910.

The Railways Improvement Authorization Act, 1914, shall be deemed to be a special Act within the meaning of section forty-two of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, authorizing the construction by the Minister of Railways of a railway and reclamation across Judge’s and Hobson Bays, and across Orakei Basin and Creek, within the waters of Auckland Harbour, as specified in the Schedule to this Act, but subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by the Minister of Marine.
3 Certain land vested in Corporation of City of Auckland.
The area enclosed within the railway-embankment across Judge’s Bay between Campbell’s Point and Point Resolution is hereby vested in the Corporation of the City of Auckland: Provided that this section shall not be so construed as to confer any riparian rights with respect to the said land on the said Corporation.
Schedule
In Judge’s Bay, from Campbell’s Point to Point Resolution, a solid embankment not exceeding 50 yards wide, with such culverts and sluice-gates as may be necessary to allow of the ingress and egress of tidal waters to the enclosed area, to form a salt-water lake, and in such a manner as not to interfere with the Auckland City salt-water baths. In Hobson Bay, from Point Resolution to the southern end of the Orakei Bridge, a solid embankment and reclamation not exceeding 400 yards in width, with such waterways and openings as may be prescribed by the Minister of Marine. Across Orakei Basin a solid embankment not exceeding 100 yards in width, with such waterways and openings as may be prescribed by the Minister of Marine. All such embankments to be constructed within a curved line drawn from the outer point of Campbell’s Point to a point 50 yards outside the outer point of Point Resolution; thence within a straight line drawn to the southern end of the Orakei Bridge; thence within a straight line drawn to the south bank of Parewa Creek where it connects with Orakei Creek and Orakei Basin: all as shown on Plan No. 22875, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways.
