An Act to amend the Copyright Act, 1913.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Copyright Amendment Act, 1924, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Copyright Act, 1913 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Extension of benefits of principal Act to British protectorates.
(1.)
The Governor-General may, by Order in Council, direct that the principal Act shall apply—
(a.)
To works first published in any territory under His Majesty’s protection, or subject to a mandate conferred on His Majesty by the League of Nations, as if such works were first published in New Zealand; and
(b.)
In respect of residence in any such territory in like manner as if such residence were residence in New Zealand;
and thereupon, subject to the provisions of the Order, the principal Act shall apply accordingly.
(2.)
Any Order made in pursuance of this section may provide that the principal Act shall extend to existing works in which copyright subsists, but subject to such modifications, restrictions, and provisions as are set out in the Order.

3 Correction of error in section 7 of principal Act.
Section seven of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting the words “the said Court,”
and substituting the words “the Judicial Committee.”
