An Act to amend the Wellington City Exhibition Grounds Act, 1927.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Wellington City Exhibition Grounds Amendment Act, 1930, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Wellington City Exhibition Grounds Act, 1927 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Amendment of section 9 of the Wellington City Exhibition Grounds Act, 1927.
Section nine of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the words “fifty thousand pounds”
and substituting therefor the words “seventy-five thousand pounds”
; and by adding the following as subsections two and three thereof:—
“(2)
No moneys in excess of fifty thousand pounds shall be borrowed without the consent of the Council, in writing, given subject to such conditions as the Council in its absolute discretion shall impose.
“(3)
No holder of any such debenture shall have any claim in respect thereof upon the Wellington City Council or any of its revenues.”
3 Servants of association not to be interested in contracts.
(1)
No servant of the association shall be concerned or interested (otherwise than as a member of an incorporated company in which there are more than twenty members, and of which he is not the general manager) in any contract made by the association, except in respect of his service or as an exhibitor.
Members of association not to vote when interested.
(2)
No member of the committee of the association shall take part in any discussion or vote on any matter relating to the principal Act in which he has directly or indirectly any pecuniary interest.
Advertising of contracts.
(3)
No contract in respect of any matter under the principal Act the amount whereof exceeds fifty pounds shall be made except after public tender, of which public notice shall be given.
Offence.
(4)
Every person who offends against any of the provisions of this section is liable to a penalty not exceeding fifty pounds for each such offence.
