An Act to amend the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1 Short Title.

This Act may be cited as the Emergency Regulations Amendment Act, 1946, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Duration of principal Act extended.

Section four of the Emergency Regulations Amendment Act, 1940, as amended by section two of the Emergency Regulations Amendment Act, 1945, is hereby further amended by omitting from subsection one the reference to the thirty-first day of December, nineteen hundred and forty-six, and substituting a reference to the thirty-first day of December, nineteen hundred and forty-seven.
3 Extending power to modify enactments.
In paragraph (e) of subsection two of section three of the principal Act, and in subsection four of that section, the expression “enactment”
shall mean any enactment passed before the passing of this Act.
4 Validation of emergency regulations.
All emergency regulations heretofore made under the principal Act (including regulations made under the joint authority of that Act and any other Act) shall for all purposes be deemed, as from the making thereof, to have been made with full power and authority, and to be and to have been valid and of full effect; and the powers, rights, duties, and liabilities of all persons in respect of all things done or suffered, whether before or after the passing of this Act, shall be determined accordingly.
5 Repeal.
1945, No. 49
The Emergency Regulations Amendment Act, 1945, is hereby repealed.
