An Act to amend the Samoa Act 1921.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement.
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Samoa Amendment Act 1954, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Samoa Act 1921.
(2)
This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the first day of April, nineteen hundred and fifty-three.
2 Term of office of Public Service Commissioner and Samoan Assistant Public Service Commissioner. 1949, No. 47
Section five of the Samoa Amendment Act 1949 is hereby amended by repealing subsection one, and substituting the following subsection:
“(1)
The Public Service Commissioner and the Samoan Assistant Public Service Commissioner shall each be appointed for a term of not more than three years, but may from time to time be reappointed for a term of not more than three years.”
