An Act to amend the Gaming Act 1908.
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title.
This Act may be cited as the Gaming Amendment Act 1955, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Gaming Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Increasing maximum number of totalizator days.

(1)
Subsection two of section fifty of the principal Act, as substituted by section two of the Gaming Amendment Act 1950, is hereby amended as follows:
(a)
By omitting from paragraph (a) the words “two hundred and twenty-four”
, and substituting the words “two hundred and thirty-two”
:
(b)
By omitting from paragraph (b) the words “ninety-nine”
, and substituting the words “one hundred and nine”
.
(2)
It is hereby declared that the purpose of the amendment made by subsection one of this section is to provide such number of totalizator licences for racing and trotting as are required and expected to be required for allocation during the period of five years ending with the thirty-first day of July, nineteen hundred and sixty, in localities which in the opinion of the Minister are not adequately provided for.
