An Act to amend the Regulations Act 1936
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Regulations Amendment Act 1959, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Regulations Act 1936 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Laying of regulations before Parliament
The principal Act is hereby amended by adding the following section:
“8
Where any Act, whether passed before or after the commencement of this section, provides that any regulations under that Act shall be laid before Parliament, then, unless that Act otherwise expressly provides, those regulations shall be laid before Parliament within twenty-eight days after the date of the making thereof if Parliament is then in session, and, if not, shall be laid before Parliament within twenty-eight days after the date of the commencement of the next ensuing session.”
