This Act may be cited as the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1960, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954¹ (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).

This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the first day of April, nineteen hundred and sixty.

Section 97 of the principal Act (as substituted by subsection (1) of section 8 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act 1959) is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1) the words “one pound a year”, and substituting the words “three pounds a year, or a proportionate part of that amount where the Council levies those charges in respect of any period of less than a year”.
