An Act to amend the Trade Practices Act 1958
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Trade Practices Amendment Act 1964, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Trade Practices Act 1958 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Constitution of Commission
Section 3 of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subsections (2) and (3) and substituting the following subsections:
“(2)
The Commission shall consist of—
“(a)
A Chairman, who shall be appointed by the Governor-General on the recommendation of the Minister, and who shall hold office during the pleasure of the Governor-General:
“(b)
One or more ordinary members.
“(3)
All persons who for the time being are ordinary members (other than associate members) of the Price Tribunal shall be ordinary members of the Commission.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Industries and Commerce.
