An Act to amend the Marginal Lands Act 1950
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Marginal Lands Amendment Act 1969, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Marginal Lands Act 1950 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Marginal Lands Board
(1)
Section 3 of the principal Act is hereby amended—
(a)
By repealing paragraph (e) of subsection (1):
(b)
By omitting from subsection (4) the words “In the absence from any meeting of the Chairman of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council, any person appointed by him may attend the meeting in his stead.”
(2)
Section 3 of the principal Act is hereby further amended by repealing paragraph (f) of subsection (1) (as substituted by section 2(1) of the Marginal Lands Amendment Act 1965), and substituting the following paragraph:
“(f)
Not more than 4 other members, to be appointed by the Minister as being persons experienced in the management of marginal lands.”
(3)
Section 2 of the Marginal Lands Amendment Act 1965 is hereby consequentially amended by repealing subsection (1).
This Act is administered in the Department of Lands and Survey.
