An Act to amend the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1951
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Births and Deaths Registration Amendment Act 1972, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1951 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Registration of birth of children born out of New Zealand
(1)
Section 15 of the principal Act is hereby repealed.
(2)
Section 15a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 2(1) of the Births and Deaths Registration Amendment Act 1963) is hereby consequentially amended by omitting the words “and the parents or other persons having lawful charge of the child were not about to take up their abode in New Zealand,”
