An Act to amend the National Parks Act 1952
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the National Parks Amendment Act 1973, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the National Parks Act 1952 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Authority may engage persons on contract
The principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after section 6b (as inserted by section 3 of the National Parks Amendment Act 1972), the following section:
“6c
“(1)
The Authority may from time to time enter into contracts with persons, on such terms and conditions as it thinks fit, to provide such services or perform such work as the Authority may require.
“(2)
No person, by reason only of his entering into a contract with the Authority under subsection (1) of this section, shall be regarded as being employed in the State services for the purposes of the State Services Act 1962 or in the Government service for the purposes of the Superannuation Act 1956.”
3 Bylaws
Section 38 of the principal Act (as amended by section 2(2) of the National Parks Amendment Act 1970) is hereby further amended by adding to subsection (1) the following paragraph:
“(1)
Prescribing conditions upon which operators and pilots in command of aircraft may set down or pick up or recover within the Park any person, livestock, carcass, or article of any description.”
This Act is administered in the Department of Lands and Survey.
