An Act to amend the Evidence Act 1908
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Evidence Amendment Act 1974, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Evidence Act 1908 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Proof of convictions by fingerprints
(1)
Section 12a of the principal Act (as inserted by section 3 of the Evidence Amendment Act 1962) is hereby amended by adding to paragraph (c) of subsection (2) the word “or”
and inserting after that paragraph the following paragraph:
“(d)
A member of any police force of Canada or of any Province or Territory of Canada,—”.
(2)
Section 12a of the principal Act (as so inserted) is hereby further amended by omitting from subsection (4) the words “or Australia”
, and substituting the words “Australia, or Canada”
.
