An Act to amend the Matrimonial Property Act 1976
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Matrimonial Property Amendment Act 1983, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Matrimonial Property Act 1976 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Rules of Court and regulations
Section 53 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection (3)(as substituted by section 17(1) of the Family Courts Act 1980), the following subsection:
“(3a)
Without limiting the generality of the powers conferred by subsections (1) and (3) of this section, rules made under either subsection may require any party to proceedings under this Act to supply to the other party to the proceedings particulars of the nature and value of the property of the first-mentioned party which could be the subject of any order in those proceedings.”
