An Act to amend the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council Act 1976
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council Amendment Act 1986, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Alcoholic Liquor Advisory Council Act 1976 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the day on which it receives the Governor-General’s assent.
2 Secretary to the Treasury to cease to be member of Council
(1)
Section 3(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended—
(a)
By omitting the figure “9”
, and substituting the figure “8”
:
(b)
By repealing paragraph (b).
(2)
Section 2(1) of the principal Act is hereby consequentially amended by omitting from the definition of the term “official member”
the words “any of paragraphs (b) to (d)”
, and substituting the words “paragraph (c) or paragraph (d)”
.
(3)
Section 6 of the principal Act is hereby consequentially amended by repealing subsection (2), and substituting the following subsection:
“(2)
If any official member of the Council is unable to attend any meeting of the Council, the Director-General of Health or the Director-General of Social Welfare, as the case may require, may appoint any other officer of the Department of Health or the Department of Social Welfare, as the case may require, to deputise for that member at that meeting.”
(4)
Section 12(4) of the principal Act is hereby consequentially amended by omitting the expression “5”
, and substituting the expression “4”
