An Act to amend the Medicines Act 1981
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Medicines Amendment Act (No. 2) 1990, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Medicines Act 1981 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
2 Applications for Minister’s consent
Section 21(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after paragraph (c), the following paragraph:
“(ca)
Be accompanied by the prescribed fee:”.
3 Minister may give provisional consent
Section 23(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from paragraph (a) the expression “(a) and (b)”
, and substituting the expression “(b) and (ca)”
.
4 Distribution of changed medicines restricted
Section 24 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after subsection (1), the following subsection:
“(1a)
Every notice deposited with the Director-General under subsection (1) of this section shall be accompanied by the prescribed fee.”
5 Exemption for clinical trial
Section 30(2) of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after paragraph (c), the following paragraph:
“(ca)
Be accompanied by the prescribed fee; and”.
