An Act to amend the War Pensions Act 1954
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the War Pensions Amendment Act 1991, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the War Pensions Act 1954 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1991.
2 Interpretation
(1)
Section 2(1) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing the definition of the term “dependent child”
, and substituting the following definition:
“‘Dependent child’, in relation to a member of the forces or any other person claiming a pension or allowance under this Act, means a child who is being cared for as a member of the family of the member of the forces or other such person:”.
(2)
Section 2 of the War Pensions Amendment Act (No. 3) 1986 is hereby consequentially repealed.
