An Act to amend the Passports Act 1980
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title
This Act may be cited as the Passports Amendment Act 1991, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Passports Act 1980 (in this Act referred to as the principal Act).
2 Issue of passport
Section 4(2)(b) of the principal Act is hereby amended by repealing subparagraph (ii) (as amended by section 150(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1985), and substituting the following subparagraphs:
“(ii)
The applicant is on bail or parole or probation, or is subject to a sentence of supervision under the Criminal Justice Act 1985, or is subject to conditions of release under Part VI of that Act; or
“(iii)
The applicant is required by an order made by any New Zealand Court to remain in New Zealand, or to refrain from obtaining a passport, or to surrender a passport:”.
3 Criminal Justice Act 1985 consequentially amended
The First Schedule to the Criminal Justice Act is hereby consequentially amended by repealing so much of that Schedule as relates to the principal Act.
