An Act to amend the Police Act 1958
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Police Amendment Act 1995, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Police Act 1958 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.
2 Protection of members for acts pursuant to process
(1)
Section 39 of the principal Act is hereby amended by omitting from subsection (1), and also from subsection (2), the words “or Justice”
, and substituting in each case the words “Justice, or Registrar or Deputy Registrar of any Court”
.
(2)
Section 39 of the principal Act is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:
“(3)
For the purposes of this section, the term ‘process’ includes any computer printout to which section 88(1a) of the Summary Proceedings Act 1957 applies.”
This Act is administered by the Police.
