An Act to amend the Acts Interpretation Act 1924
BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of New Zealand as follows:
1 Short Title and commencement
(1)
This Act may be cited as the Acts Interpretation Amendment Act 1996, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Acts Interpretation Act 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act).
(2)
This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of August 1996.
2 Interpretation
Section 4 of the principal Act is hereby amended by inserting, after the definition of the term “consular officer”
, the following definition:
“‘Contiguous zone of New Zealand’ has the same meaning as in section 8a of the Territorial Sea, Contiguous Zone, and Exclusive Economic Zone Act 1977:”.
This Act is administered in the Ministry of Justice.
